Depending on your needs the Smart Precinct NQ team can support you with mentoring, programs, events and education and connect you into an ecosystem of support and collaboration. 

For new businesses thinking about making Townsville and North Queensland your home we can support you to hit the ground running with information about the region and economy through to those things that will be important to you and your staff to connect into the community and make Townsville a Home.

Business Mentoring 

Business owners, founders and innovators based in Townsville  can access three mentoring sessions at no cost. This support is thanks to the generous support of Townsville City Council.

If you haven’t worked with a mentor and don’t know what to expect don’t worry. Our Advisors and mentors are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and will firstly step you through a discovery sessions to explore how Smart Precinct NQ can support you in connecting with the right programs, services and people to turn your big idea into a great business

We understand that every business is different. Through our mentoring sessions we undertake first needs assessment and goals to strengths, opportunities and where we can support you. From this we can provide direction to programs, supports, connections to help you on your journey.

The Smart Business Accelerator is suitable for founders with early-stage business ideas in professional services, trades, retail, hospitality and social enterprise.

Owning and running a small business is hard but rewarding.

Did you know that Small Businesses account for 98% of the businesses in Australia, are the nation’s largest employer and contributes 34% to the country’s GDP? Yet 50% of Small Businesses fail in the first 5 years. When a small business fails it has compounding impacts to the founder’s family, finances, and mental health. In this accelerator program you will learn skills and strategies to give your new business idea to survive.

    6 weeks – 2-hour workshops (face to face or zoom)

    Businesses can expect to spend 1 hour between sessions on pre reading and implementing activities in the business and will attend 3 one on one mentoring sessions.
