Creative Innovation Communities: Co-Design Workshop

Participate in a 2hr co-design workshop to identify what conditions are required for inclusive innovation communities to flourish in north Queensland.
Why this matters
Townsville’s creative underground is a large untapped resource for creativity and innovation; people who might not consider themselves creative or innovative and might not want to start a business or change the world, yet, when given the opportunity, pursue novel ideas and solve problems that can increase socioeconomic value for our region. Unfortunately, due to its nature, the underground’s wealth of talent, ideas, and energy often struggles to connect with mainstream industry and government innovation ecosystems. Therefore, we seek to understand what conditions are needed for inclusive creative innovation communities to flourish in north Queensland and you may be able to help.
When and where
- Monday June 23, 6pm – 8pm.
- Smart Precinct NQ, 143 Walker Street, Townsville City, 4810
- Doors open at 5:30pm, workshop commences at 6pm.
What to expect
The first part of the workshop explores local case studies of inclusive creativity, innovation, and third place activation. The second part of the workshop involves thought-provoking questions, co-design activities, and peer interaction. This is your opportunity to share knowledge and experience for the topics of innovation, creativity, inclusivity, and community engagement, and learn from others who care deeply about the prosperity of our region.
Who is invited
Representatives from industry, government, community, and academia are invited. If you would like to invite colleagues who can contribute, please inform the facilitator (contact details below) as the workshop is limited to 30 participants.
